Emily Rankin is an actor, director, and artist who specializes in immersive performance. She currently lives and works in film and theatre in Albuquerque and Santa Fe, New Mexico, and is represented by South West Artist Group. For the past two decades she's explored the world of production extensively, participating in 50 film productions and over a hundred theatrical productions. During her years spent in Austin, Texas, she helped bring to life such productions as Whirligig Theatre's Deus Ex Machina, a choose-your-own-adventure based on the Oresteia, and Penfold Theatre's Murder on the Rails, a murder mystery series performed aboard the Austin Steam Train. With Meason Wiley, she co-created and developed Verstehen, an improvisational performance series for sound and live painting with which she toured the west coast in 2017. She currently works at Meow Wolf in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where she serves as a production coordinator for their Interactive division, which focuses on immersive, maximalist, mixed reality experiences. In 2019, she directed an XR play for Meow Wolf, which featured five unique Magic Leap headset experiences and a company of ten actors.
